[1] Load sensing made easy using USB or WiFi
 
Loadstar Sensors is offering easy to use capacitive load sensors with
integrated electronics.  The sensors provide a 0 -5 V DC output,
eliminating the need for high price mV signal conditioning and can be
read directly by digital multi-meters.  These load cells are compact,
rugged and provide an accuracy of 0.25% FS or better.  Also available
are 4 channel indicators which display each load cell individually or sum.

Yet another cost-effective alternative to troublesome
mechanical pressure switches, the new version of the popular
PK pressure switch from sensor market leader ifm electronic
now offers the user two separate outputs. Rugged and easy to
use, the new PK7 is suitable for both with liquids of gases.
The high bursting pressure (1600bar on the 400bar model)
guarantees maximum safety, while the welded measuring cells
provide over 50 million reliable switching cycles.

[3] Accelerometer offers long-term stability
 
Inertial Aerosystems has released a force rebalance
accelerometer, designed for industrial applications. The
QA-650 incorporates the established Q-Flex etched quartz
proof flexure seismic system. An amorphous quartz proof mass
structure provides excellent bias, scale factor and axis
alignment. Integral electronics develop an acceleration
proportional output with current providing both static and
dynamic acceleration measurements up to 30g. With an
appropriately scaled output resistor, the output current can
be converted into a voltage. This product has long-term
stability, low noise and excellent long-term bias
repeatability.

[5] Torque transducer produces immediate results
 
HBM's has launched its Smart Torque family with the T12
digital torque transducer that sets new standards of
increased efficiency and reliability for torque measurement
in power test stands while providing monitoring and
diagnosis functions for simplified integration into
automation systems. The T12 digital torque transducer
measures torque, rotational speed and angle, power and
temperature with maximum precision with nominal (rated)
measuring ranges of 5 and 10kNm. This complements the
existing T12 torque transducer range with nominal (rated)
torques of 0.5, 1, 2 and 3kNm.

[9] Platform demonstrates CMMs in operation
 
As part of its industrial launch of the AdventCR range,
co-ordinate measuring machines designed to inspect and
control assembled car bodies and subunits, ActiCM has set up
a demonstration platform at its headquarters in Moirans, in
partnership with ABB. AdventCR is a 3D measuring system
dedicated to production lines. The combination of AdventCR
and the IRB4400 robot allows both geometric control and
surface point measurements, 10 times faster than any current
CMM.
