SPECIAL FEATURE - PRESSURE, FORCE AND ACCELERATION
=============================================
[1] Load sensing made easy using USB or WiFi
Loadstar Sensors is offering easy to use capacitive load sensors with
integrated electronics. The sensors provide a 0 -5 V DC output,
eliminating the need for high price mV signal conditioning and can be
read directly by digital multi-meters. These load cells are compact,
rugged and provide an accuracy of 0.25% FS or better. Also available
are 4 channel indicators which display each load cell individually or sum.
Our indicators offer easy connectivity to PCs via RS-232, USB, or WiFi.
User friendly data logging software for your PC is also available.
Additional 10% discount with the mention of Discount Code ETE 10-2007.

[2] PK pressure switch with dual outputs from ifm.
Yet another cost-effective alternative to troublesome
mechanical pressure switches, the new version of the popular
PK pressure switch from sensor market leader ifm electronic
now offers the user two separate outputs. Rugged and easy to
use, the new PK7 is suitable for both with liquids of gases.
The high bursting pressure (1600bar on the 400bar model)
guarantees maximum safety, while the welded measuring cells
provide over 50 million reliable switching cycles.

[3] Accelerometer offers long-term stability
Inertial Aerosystems has released a force rebalance
accelerometer, designed for industrial applications. The
QA-650 incorporates the established Q-Flex etched quartz
proof flexure seismic system. An amorphous quartz proof mass
structure provides excellent bias, scale factor and axis
alignment. Integral electronics develop an acceleration
proportional output with current providing both static and
dynamic acceleration measurements up to 30g. With an
appropriately scaled output resistor, the output current can
be converted into a voltage. This product has long-term
stability, low noise and excellent long-term bias
repeatability.

[4] Instruments cover all installations
Vishay Intertechnology announces the introduction of the
Vishay Systems G4 family of advanced process control
instruments. Applications include process weighing and
control, force measurement, web tension measurement and
control, automation, force vector calculations, high dynamic
force measurement, and high-speed batching/blending systems.
The G4 modular structure enables the user to tailor its
performance according to the application, and is available
in four versions - DIN rail, panel, desktop and
harsh-environment - providing easy installation in any type
of environment.

[5] Torque transducer produces immediate results
HBM's has launched its Smart Torque family with the T12
digital torque transducer that sets new standards of
increased efficiency and reliability for torque measurement
in power test stands while providing monitoring and
diagnosis functions for simplified integration into
automation systems. The T12 digital torque transducer
measures torque, rotational speed and angle, power and
temperature with maximum precision with nominal (rated)
measuring ranges of 5 and 10kNm. This complements the
existing T12 torque transducer range with nominal (rated)
torques of 0.5, 1, 2 and 3kNm.

[6] James Walker helps industry with IPPC
A 24-page booklet from James Walker is helping businesses to
meet aspects of European Union's Integrated Pollution
Prevention and Control (IPPC) directive. Large fines or
imprisonment can await executives of EU-based companies that
fail to comply with its conditions when they are implemented
for existing industrial plants in October 2007. Although not
a substitute for obtaining specific legal advice, the guide
presents an invaluable and thought-provoking overview of
directive 96/61/EC.

[7] Opportunity for go-ahead Digital Readout distributor
Following the decision of long-term Heidenhain Digital
Readout retrofit distributor Promtech Services to relocate,
the search is now on for a company to replace it in the
North London and Home Counties territory and to further
develop one of Heidenhain's most successful distributor
areas that contains a substantial customer base, which has
delivered record sales. The new distributor will be fully
supported in continuing this success.

[8] The must-have software for engineering maths
There's no software for engineering maths quite like Maple,
and newly-released Maple 11 is packed with new features that
makes it a must-have solution for every engineer. Its 'Smart
Document Environment' virtually eliminates the learning
curve and lets you create sophisticated interactive design
sheets faster than ever before. Faster algorithms take full
advantage of new hardware developments, dramatically
reducing the time to develop and execute advanced
simulations. Greater connectivity to other software
applications like Excel, MATLAB and Simulink ensure you get
the most out of all your computation software. Download this
comprehensive What's New datasheet for the full story.

[9] Platform demonstrates CMMs in operation
As part of its industrial launch of the AdventCR range,
co-ordinate measuring machines designed to inspect and
control assembled car bodies and subunits, ActiCM has set up
a demonstration platform at its headquarters in Moirans, in
partnership with ABB. AdventCR is a 3D measuring system
dedicated to production lines. The combination of AdventCR
and the IRB4400 robot allows both geometric control and
surface point measurements, 10 times faster than any current
CMM.
